A repair project for a wingless angel. I considered structural adhesive, but feared after putting in time to layer the goop on this zinc sculpture the bond had a high risk of failure. So I made a mechanical connection where the wings could hook on, and could still be epoxied at a later time by the customer, but they now are joined and can always be removed to safely transport again. I notched areas to receive aluminum plates that are screwed into place, into the zinc wall edges. On the plates I attached to the body, a central headed screw sticks out so that a keyhole opening on the wings’ plates can hook onto the screws. A fun project that had a limited budget.
