There is more character and depth in the old vintage and antique items from the past. The cookie cutter items available in the big stores today have no story and just arent made as well. Give me something that has 50. 75 or 100 years or more on it.

Sunday afternoon scroll through booth24 at Country Store Consignment and Antique Mall. Closed Sunday, Monday but open Tuesday through Saturday. Plenty of collectibles, man cave decor, fun garden, yard and patio vintage pieces. Add character and personality to any space. There's even a Bicentennial news paper from 1976. Assorted pieces and prices.

Wishing everyone a Happy Independence day. Classic and vintage autos, trucks, tractors is good old American iron and had a big part in building this nation. I thought it was fitting to share this here as is this speaks back to our roots and reminds of of a past that brought us here to 250 years in this great nation. This desk is a perfect Mid Century piece. All wood executive desk. Plenty of room to spread out, with extra writing surface able to be pulled above the drawers on either side and dividers in the drawers to keep things organized. How do you know when to bring a piece home? There isn't really a check list or set of rules. There's no wondering about the value or if it's worth the space it will take up. It's a feeling. It makes me catch my breath or it could just simply find me. Something about it draws me in. The look of it, the way it sits in the space it’s in, like it already belongs somewhere. It's familiar even though we've never "met" before. I'm never really looking out for a piece, I just know them when I see them and these are the pieces that come home with me.

One passed down, one rescued and 2 found. These are a few things gathered over time that have become part of my everyday. The old clock watched me grow up and now rests on the piano top as a silent anchor in my home, the old leather bound book is a rescue and much happier in a book shelf and the 2 bowls were sweet finds that remind me of old bowls my mom used when I was little. Not exact matches but the familiarity of them is what had me picking them up to bring home. Things aren't found all at once. They are gathered slowly with the pieces that find their place over time.
