Short answer: yes — however, it's not what we usually recommend.

Kitchens deal with spills, humidity, and daily foot traffic, and solid hardwood can take a real hit from water — even sealed and well maintained. That's why for kitchens and baths, our team usually points homeowners toward vinyl glue-down instead — you get a similar look with real durability and water resistance built in. The client previously had Bamboo floors installed in an uneven basement with no expansion gaps causing issues.

Our team came in and made it right. We moved all the furniture, leveled the basement, laid a moisture barrier over the concrete, and installed a glue-down Mohawk European White Oak engineered hardwood in the color Phoenix.
