3 years ago this week, we stuck our name on the door and started the wild little journey of building Fleur de Mer.
We opened with equal parts excitement and fear, truly having no idea where this would lead, let alone survive. There was our beloved Facebook Marketplace Coca-Cola fridge, (RIP 💔), overpriced lisianthus we absolutely did not have the budget for, and a pretty sparse double storefront that we were trusting would become something.
In a total of 156 weeks of being open, probably at least one third have been spent spiraling about how insane we were to do this and questioning everything. But then the phone rings, an order comes in, a bride decides to choose us for their big day, or a new customer walks through the door, and we remember exactly why we wanted this so badly.
When you support Fleur de Mer, you are truly supporting two sisters living out their dream of playing with flowers in a pink shop.
Here are some of our favorite moments from the last 3 years. The flower bars, the workshops, the weddings, the late nights, the pop ups, the holiday chaos, the last minute orders.
Thank you to our parents who help and support us at every turn, our friends who step in when we are drowning, our amazing team, and most of all, our customers. You are the reason we get to keep our doors open.
And to our fellow business owners who join us in a good cry every once in a while, we love you deeply.
