We started out doing inlay work for gun stocks and it has led us into other products, such as, bottle stoppers, pistol grips, boxes, and wooden rings. These are just a few of the products we create. Sometimes when you are in the middle of a build you don’t fully appreciate the challenge that you are in. You may not even appreciate the steps that lead you to the final product. ⁣

I’ve been looking back at past projects recently, and sometimes it brings up all the struggles, all the thoughts I had while working through the build, and I seem to appreciate the build even more. ⁣
•⁣
I remember gluing up those wedges for the board and how difficult it was. My first glue up didn’t even work, it failed. I had to recut pieces and figure out a different way to approach the glue up. I also had to account for my bandsaws resawing capabilities and plan for that. Because I didn’t do that the first time. ⁣
•⁣
In the end, I’m extremely happy with how this backgammon board turned out. Would I build it differently next time? Probably. What I know is that I learned a great deal from this project, and these are the things that help us grow as makers. ⁣
