While an ongoing window project moves forward steadily, I've brought in a pair of ornate church doors. Veneered in oak, they are Very heavy. Found this deterioration on the tongue and groove paneling while I was chasing down a buckling rail veneer.
Looks like someone used construction adhesive to glue down the mouldings. It made a very nice water tight bathtub around the end grain of the panels.
Lapped in some tongue and groove cookies to replace the rot. A few more tweaks and they'll be ready.
