The Memorial for Loyalty to the Fatherland, established on April 5, 1920, is a prestigious state decoration conferred upon members of the Serbian army who retreated through Albania during the winter of 1915/1916. Instituted by Crown Prince-Regent Aleksandar I Karađorđević, the medal features a left profile of the commander-in-chief on the obverse, surrounded by a circular inscription and a laurel wreath, with a silver double-headed eagle and crown. The reverse bears the inscription 'for loyalty to the fatherland.' This esteemed award is worn on a light green ribbon with black stripes and is presented on anniversaries and jubilees to commemorate the participants of this significant event.
