One of my goals for 2021 is to learn some new stitches! I know all the classics, but part of why I love embroidery is the history and breadth of this craft. Over thousands of years it’s barely changed- all you need is a needle, fabric, and thread. And hundreds of different stitches and techniques can make everything from dresses to art to furniture beautiful! I picked up this stitch dictionary this week and I’m going to challenge myself to learn a few new stitches every week in 2021, using all the colors I have! I’m also going to try these new stitches using canvas, which I’ve always wanted to try. Let me know if your favorite obscure stitch and your go-to’s that’s you use over and over!
