One year married 🥰 10.5.25 we got legally married in our backyard in Berkeley during golden hour with three dear friends and our beloved pup, Ollie. We felt our late dog, Cora, with us in spirit 🤍 Our neighbors dropped off flowers and a sweet note and we popped some bubbly and hung out at the dining table. It was peaceful, warm & simple. Happy one year being married, my love! 4 months since our wedding, nearly 8 years together, and 10 years knowing each other. Cheers to a lifetime together! 🥂💓

ps: simple backyard or courtroom legal marriage is underrated! A simple paper signing “wedding” was always what I pictured for myself growing up, but we decided to have a traditional wedding because we wanted to write a new chapter for our family and celebrate the “birthday” of our family formation for future generations to look back on, and to thank our chosen family for their love and support along the way in our lives and relationship. Both are great and I’m so grateful I got both experiences.

My first Substack post is live! I hope reading it will transport you to our wedding weekend. I am really proud of this piece — sharing my raw thoughts on the wedding experience, the organizing principals for our wedding and the cherished memories that stand out as I’ve processed the weekend over the last four months.

Subscribe for free at the link in my bio and stories 💓💖🥰 I’m so excited to be creating long form written content again…I really missed writing!

I’m not quite sure what shape this will take but I’m so excited to start sharing my opinions, thoughts and analysis with you guys on a weekly basis in a new medium. I will also sprinkle in recipes, gift guides, products I’m loving, and a quarterly think piece…and cover topics I’m deep diving. Research is one of my main hobbies and until now I haven’t had an outlet to share that.

Hosting is a hobby for me, and every time I host, I jot down little things in my Notes app that I want to remember for next time.

Once, after a friend’s wedding, the afterparty unexpectedly moved to our house and we realized we had no liquor or ch*****ne on hand. After that, I started keeping a stocked bar and a bottle of ch*****ne chilled just in case.

Another time, after a big party, the hand towels in our bathroom were completely soaked. Now, for larger gatherings, I put out individual hand towels with an obvious wastebasket nearby.

They’re small things, but I think those little touches are what make a space feel intentional and help guests feel genuinely welcomed.

I also love hosting casual, impromptu get-togethers, so it does not always need to be elaborate. For me, the basics are pretty simple: a clean and welcoming space, good food and drinks, and a comfortable place to sit.

What are your favorite hosting tips? Anything I missed? Please share them in the comments!! 💖

We asked everyone to stay seated for our walk down the aisle so it would feel less formal and more comfortable, but it actually made us feel more awkward / center of attention 😂😅 so even if the standing feels old school….I still recommend having guests stand! I think having guests stand brings more energy into the space. I’ll be sharing more reflections like this in my first substack post reflecting on our wedding weekend, you can subscribe at the link in my bio. First post will be paywalled, second post will be free. Subscribing costs less than a latte and helps support my content!

How could we possibly pick the top 20 photos to share from our full wedding album?! There are so many gems. Cherished memories captured. And so much beauty and love….Well, we tried our best! And here they are 🥰 my favorite is the photo of our ceremony where I can see the facial expressions of some of our loved ones…there wasn’t a dry eye! And honestly we didn’t anticipate making everyone cry 🙂 Maybe someday I will share our vows… the speeches and vows were really special and unique. As I’ve processed our wedding my favorite part was the people, our community and chosen family all in one place.

I just launched my Substack (link in bio!) and will be sharing a two part write up this week. Part 1 will be my reflections on our wedding from the heart, and Part 2 will be all of the details and decisions that went into planning the day in hopes that it can help a bride out there who may also want to plan her wedding (or really for anyone planning a special event / party).

Ngl I broke a sweat trying to figure out the attachment 😅😂 this is a very basic recipe that will have ice crystals because there is no binder so it’s better served fresh with a soft-serve like consistency. Next up I’m trying a custard style base that freezes well. I LOVE the ice cream attachment.

2 cups whole milk
2 cups heavy cream
1/2 cup maple syrup (good stuff)
3 tsp vanilla (good stuff)
Pinch of salt

I can’t wait to use this daffodil cutlery for dinner parties this spring! 🌼 it is so easy to revive silver with this paste, it takes less than 30 seconds per piece. Just apply & wash off.

New fav coffee shop! Fogline iced latte with oat milk was 10/10! Highly recommend and I don’t say that lightly given how expensive coffee is nowadays 🙂 it was a really nice treat! Paired perfectly with a walk through the marina. I recommend parking at Seabreeze in the parking lot, then walk to Roaming Bean on the bike / walking path, then there is a loop…keep following the path to the bay, past the restaurant on the bay, to the Berkeley yacht club and then it loops back to the start of the walking path.
