This is a lovely three season top, so we’re keeping our schedule low key and spread out. This is a great way to create a lovely garment with support and encouragement, and to use this beautiful yarn!

The Sunshine Coast top by Heidi Kirrmaier is a sweet three season top with lovely details. Knit with a DK yarn, its construction is top down with raglan sleeves and subtle side panels that provide interest and structure. The A- line shape is flattering to many body types. The pattern is written for three quarter length sleeves, but they can easily be shortened or lengthened depending on your preference. The sweater can be finished with a rolled hem, a garter stitch hem, or an I-cord bindoff.

We’re suggesting Queensland Trinity for this project. It’s a luscious silk/wool/cotton blend that is flying out the door- people love it! It comes in a lovely color palette and has a wonderful hand. Come on in and get your favorite color while we still have it!

Estella loved London and now we’re knitting on the train to Wales! We went to Buckingham Palace, on a tea bus to see the sights, to a West End show, to Liberty London, and more! We will have lots of newsletter stories when we come home-

We have just received the Spring Palette collection of Dream In Color’s Smooshy Cashmere! Look at these glorious colors. These are merino, cashmere, and nylon, so you can use them for socks, shawls, or even spring tops- the yarn is light and luscious!

Snow is softly falling outside the window at Yarn, in what Vermonters sometimes call Third Winter after our recent warm temperatures. It isn't enough to muck up the roads, so all is well......

And we just got a few more colors of Malabrigo Rasta to top off our already-extensive selection! Snowy March days are perfect for a quick Rasta project- beautiful colors, quick completion, cozy and warm while it's snowing out.....stop by and grab some!

(I'm really drawn to the olive green, which is outaide my normal color palette- any ideas for a pattern? What should I make with it? Please tell me in the comments-)

It has been a full month since I made this post! That's how backordered red worsted yarn is, all over the place. We have been out of red worsted for much of the last month, but today.......drum roll......FIVE NEW BAGS! We now have different colors of Berroco Ultra Wool and Berroco Ultra Alpaca in beautiful reds.

We still get at least one request per day for red yarn- keep making those hats! So if you need red worsted, don't delay. I don't expect this to last very long!

See this? It's RED WORSTED yarn! We got a small restock a few days ago and it's already selling down. If you want more red worsted to make hats, please get in your car right now and come see us! We got a small red DK restock too and we are running through it very quickly.

LOTS of fun and fibership this past weekend- about 25 people stopped by for Leslie's red hat MAL and we had a wonderful time! The Yarn community is an endless source of friendship and support and inspiration. We do have Open Fiber every Saturday from 1-3 PM, so please stop by some time and join us-

Over the last two days 11 different people came in to buy red yarn to make a certain hat- which was the first I had heard about it. It’s called Melt the ICE, and the design is patterned after the red pointed hats made by many Norwegians during the N**i occupation of their country in the 1940s as a form of visual protest.

We’re having a KAL to make some of these- please join us!

Fortunately, you can make this pattern in fi*****ng, DK, or worsted. Thanks to those initial 11 people, I have had to reorder some red yarns, but we still have plenty- come on in!

I’m making my Melt the ICE from Good Shepherd Yarn, made by Carolyn Partridge in Windham. Carolyn served in the Vermont Legislature for a number of years and started her political career volunteering for Bernie Sanders in Burlington a long time ago. It seems appropriate that my hat will be a very Vermonty protest! Please tell me in the comments and tell me which of Carolyn’s beautiful reds you like better!
