🔨 **Back in the shop and catching up after a BUSY weekend!**

We’ve got a lot going on behind the scenes, and I’ll be reaching out to a few of you soon regarding the **dog photos you’ve submitted for custom portraits.** 🐾

But dog portraits aren’t all we do!

Looking for an **outdoor sign?** We’ve got you covered.
Have a **custom gift idea?** Let’s talk.
Something completely different in mind? **That’s where we really like to get creative.**

📦 **And did you know we can ship?**

If you see something you like or have a custom idea that needs to make its way outside the Waterloo area, let’s talk. Certain pieces can be safely packaged and shipped right to you or directly to someone special.

🎄 **And the holidays are coming FAST.**

If you’ve been thinking about having something made for someone special — or you’ve had that project idea sitting in the back of your mind — now is the time to reach out. Once the holiday schedule starts filling up, there are only so many spots available.

**Don’t wait until the last minute. Send us a message and let’s talk about your idea.**

You bring the idea. **We’ll see what we can build.**

**Same girl. Same style rocker. Years apart. ❤️**

These pictures tell a story that means more to me than simply building a rocking horse.

The little girl in these photos is the same girl—just a few years and a whole lot of growing later. From being small enough to climb right in for a test ride, to growing into the rocker, she’s been there through the process.

And that's exactly why I build them the way I do.

I could make a rocker faster. I could cut corners. I could build something that looks good today.

But that's not the point.

The intention is to build something with **quality, craftsmanship and attention to detail** that can become an heirloom—something that gets passed down, not thrown away.

Something a child enjoys today…
Something a parent holds onto tomorrow…
And someday, something another little one gets to experience.

**Years may change. Kids may grow. Styles may change.**

But the intention stays the same:

**Build it right. Build it to last. Build something worth keeping.**

That's the kind of craftsmanship I believe in. ❤️

🐾 **WOW… You Guys!** 🐾

I have to say, I wasn't expecting the response to my last post!

Thank you to everyone who commented, shared their dog's breed, told me about their personality, and gave me so many great ideas. I've been reading through the comments and there are some REALLY interesting suggestions in there.

You've definitely given me a lot to think about! 😂

Over the next few weeks, I'm going to be looking at all of these suggestions and figuring out which breeds, personalities and artistic styles I want to explore.

One thing became pretty clear from all of your comments:

**Every dog has a personality.**

That's what I'm trying to capture with this artwork. I'm not trying to simply copy a photograph or make a generic "Bulldog," "Lab," or "Golden." I want the finished piece to make the owner look at it and say:

**"Yep… that's MY dog."**

I'm going to take my time with this and see where it leads rather than trying to rush it.

And for those of you who commented and thought, **"I'd really like one of my dog someday…"** — I'd love to know that too.

🐾 **Send me a private message with your dog's breed if you'd be interested in having one created when I start taking commissions.**

There's no commitment and I'm not taking orders yet. I'm simply trying to get an idea of who's interested as I develop this.

Thank you again for all the encouragement, ideas and support. It means more than you know!

**Keep the suggestions coming — I'm paying attention!** 🐾

Well… sometimes you have to keep a completed project under wraps until it reaches its new home! 😊

This special piece was made right here in **Waterloo, IA**, and traveled all the way to **Denver, Colorado** as a very special anniversary gift.

Congratulations to the **Herdahl family on 60 years of marriage!** ❤️💍

It was an honor to create something meaningful to help celebrate such an incredible milestone. Here’s to 60 years of memories—and many more to come!
