As I promised, I’d like to continue sharing our spec house renovation. This time, we’ll focus on the kitchen. So, where should we start? Here’s what you’ll need to choose and decide on. Are you ready?
Just like with the Family Room, you’ll need to select the wall color and flooring. These days, the open floor plan is the most popular layout, so most likely, you’ll want to go with the same wall color and flooring as in the Family Room.
Now, let's talk about the kitchen layout (always fun!). You’ll need to choose plumbing fixtures, light fixtures, appliances, cabinets, cabinet hardware, countertops, tile, and tile grout. It may sound straightforward on paper, but trust me, there’s a lot of stress involved, as well as compromises and the need to stay flexible. And let’s not forget all the driving around!
Of course, unless you hire a designer, which can make the renovation process much more enjoyable and smoother.
