After a brief emergency residence at , we will be set up at Waynesville's iconic Apple Harvest Festival this Saturday 10am-5pm. Our online store will remain live, but this is the last chance to shop in person!

Come visit us and some of our Frog Level merchant friends on Depot Street, right around the corner from Main Street. We will have plenty of pots and garden tools for you, and perhaps a few remaining houseplants. It's also a great time to preorder our new line of merch to support our recovery from Helene's wrath.

If you wonder how we're doing - better, because of you. We are keeping a close eye out for the next iteration of Cultivate Garden Shop, and are willing to wait for just the right opportunity. Your outpouring of support has made us even more sure that what we created has a home in Waynesville. There is still a long road ahead, but we believe that a seed in good soil will grow.

With some encouragement from our new friends at and , we are pleased to announce that preorders are now open for a special merch line to help rebuild Cultivate Garden Shop after the loss we experienced from Tropical Storm Helene. All proceeds from this line will go directly toward supporting our recovery efforts.

The illustration, a "C" that flows through all four seasons, was created by our friend as part of our original brand package. We held it back for a meaningful occasion, and now feels like the right time. As we endure and navigate this challenging time, we're reminded that every season comes to an end, making way for the next one. We believe the best is yet to come and that after winter is always spring.

The line includes a high-quality tee, long sleeve tee, crewneck sweater, and crop top. Visit the shop link in our bio to get your preorder in.

We want to take a moment to thank everyone who has volunteered, shopped at our pop-up, made online purchases, or donated during this time. Your support has meant everything, and we look forward to rebuilding together.

With heavy hearts, we share that this is Cultivate's Final Harvest on Depot Street.

The future of our little garden shop is uncertain. As we sort through future possibilities, please join us tomorrow night for a pop-up of our remaining plant/pot inventory at Bevel Bar inside Axe and Awl Leatherworks. This pop-up will continue until all living inventory is gone with a second night occurring Saturday. We have worked our hearts out emptying, moving, cleaning, inventorying, and setting up for one last harvest and are eager for you to join us.

We will have cold beer, cocktails, water, Wifi, and a welcoming atmosphere, come by, buy a plant, have a drink, and support Cultivate's Final Harvest.

There will be live music by Mike Yow (), and an invite for fellow Frog Level merchants to join if able , , and

If you cannot attend and want to show your support, please visit the link in our bio.

We are all safe. Our friends, families, and team members are safe. Thank you to everyone who has pitched in to help and reached out with messages of support.

On Friday morning, Tropical Storm Helene caused Richland Creek to flood from Love Lane to the railroad tracks. Debris forced our front doors open and our shop filled with 3 feet of water. This amount of water, sludge and damage done to the structure creates an immediate impression that the building will not be habitable for the foreseeable future. The subsequent state of these buildings coupled with the neglect of care by property owners over the last few decades leaves the Frog Level neighborhood in a sad state with a very bleak future. This past weekend was spent finding local friends and working together to clean out the sludge-covered storefront and salvage what we could.

Some folks have asked how to support us during this time. Here are some options:

SHOP ONLINEšŸ’»: We have updated our online shop inventory, adding the products we still have available and can ship. Go ham.

SHOP PLANTS 🪓: Our remaining plant and pot inventory is available for purchase in-person at , just up the street. We just received a new shipment two weeks ago, so there’s plenty of new plant babies waiting for a home! Most are bundled with a pot.

DONATE šŸ’ø: At our online shop, you’ll find an option to donate. For context, the physical store is a total loss for us. If we reopen, it will not be at 250 Depot Street. All the furniture and display pieces curated, the hand-built bar and back wall, the ā€œhoneycombā€ installation in the center of the store, all gone. We invested a lot up front into creating a beautiful, welcoming space for our community, putting our faith in the future success of Frog Level and Cultivate. We can’t get our time and sweat back, but any donations will go toward helping us pay off startup expenses.

We have been encouraged by the incredible community around us in Waynesville. To everyone who has pitched in, gifted meals, sent messages, or even just shared their friendly company, thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Plant of the week: Alocasia ā€˜Golden Bone’

🪓 Esthetically pleasing, leathery dark green leaves with an iridescent sheen, and a bright golden green midrib with burgundy undersides.

Love a warm, humid environment.

Prefers medium to bright indirect light.

Sensitive to dry soil. Bottom watering and misting leaves regularly helps to keep the soil moist.

Ensure plenty of air movement around the plant.
