MJ is just a little bit excited about her table. Just a little!

She bought a new home, took it down to the studs, and is building everything from scratch. We are helping her create custom pieces that fit her organic modern style, and this dining table is the one she is most excited about. Honestly, same. The elevated yet cozy, want to snuggle in with a cup of coffee or a cocktail vibe we are going for in her dining room is totally my jam.

Stained burl with a few tastefully placed resin accents, a pair of custom furry benches that curve right along the edge of the table, plus stool and banquette seating to round out the look. It is going to be something special.

More to come as this project comes together!

Workshop days are the best days. We’ve got a handful of projects in the works right now, and there’s nothing quite like walking into the shop and seeing a sketch turn into an actual piece of furniture.

It’s also where I lay out every burl slab by hand, moving pieces around until everything looks juuuuuust right. The team has learned to be very patient with me :)

This is where our pieces come to life, and it never gets old.

I couldn’t do any of this without the talented makers who bring my crazy ideas to life. Every new design comes with a lot of back and forth - lots of “what if we tried this,” lots of brainstorming, and a lot of figuring out how we’re actually going to pull it off.

Sometimes when I bring a new idea to the shop, I get the sideways look and have to say “truuuuust me” :) And sometimes I get an immediate “that’s cool.”

The Cyrus Drink Table was the second kind - and I’m pretty obsessed with it too.

Bringing a new design idea to Jason is always one of my favorite parts of the process.

I come to him with the concept and we work through whether we can execute on it together. When the answer is yes, something like the Cyrus Drink Table is what comes out the other side.

The Cyrus Drink Table is now available on our website. Shop it at the link in our bio.

Thinking back to the first piece I ever designed. It was a walnut coffee table with two steel legs wrapped around the corners. It looked SO cool. It also had corners at perfect toddler-forehead height. I didn’t have kids yet - clearly.

But it’s the piece where all of this started, and it’s fun to look back and see how far Timber & Tulip has come.

Ten years (and two kids’ worth of perspective) later, every piece starts the same way - with an idea, a material, and a lot of thought about how to make it as durable as it is pretty.

Stick around - a few new designs are coming that might be my favorites yet. Very excited to share with all of you!

Sometimes a beautiful slab of wood makes for the perfect addition to your wall. It brings texture and a natural character that traditional art cannot.

Broad rolling arms, a loose back seat, and a sturdy frame built for the kind of chair you actually want to sit in. Architectural in form, comfortable by design.

A rolled frame that wraps around the seat with pitch and crown in perfect unity. Versatile enough to move from casual to formal without ever leaving your seat.

A modern take on the wingback, with playful organic curves built into a classic silhouette. Simple enough to pair with a sofa, bold enough to hold its own as the focal point of a room.

A recliner that does not look like one. Eye-catching design meets traditional ease and comfort, with a lifetime warranty on the frame and suspension.

Built for people who take their relaxation seriously. American Leather’s Infinity System allows the back and footrest to operate independently, so you find your perfect position every time.

The sofa version of one of our favorite chairs. Broad rolling arms, loose back and seat cushions, and a frame built to last with a limited lifetime warranty.

The Atlas Console started with the material, not a sketch.

We wanted to work with walnut timber this substantial without it reading the way heavy timber pieces usually do. Most furniture at this scale leans rustic. We were after something cleaner and softer. Rounding the waterfall corners was the move, it takes the edge off a piece this hefty without losing any of the weight and presence that makes it worth having.

At nearly 400 pounds of continuous solid walnut cascading from the top down both sides with no break for legs, the grain runs uninterrupted across the whole form.

Available in 48” or 60” lengths, made to order with an 8 to 10 week lead time.

The George Nesting Tables are made with unique slabs of mango wood, which means no two tables are ever exactly the same.

We love the nesting design for the flexibility it brings to a space, whether you need a smaller footprint or a little more surface area. The spalting in the wood adds so much character, almost like the grain has been painted on.
