Hey everyone,
No veggie garden this year.
We are killing all of the Bermuda under the black tarp for a year. I mixed in some wood mulch in early January, left it exposed, then Dad ran the Tiller over it all Saturday. I tarped it by myself yesterday. Very difficult to do in that 20mph southern wind.
I might put a few pepper plants in a back yard quarter circle flower bed. I'll just focus on tending to the inner backyard this year. Also we have a lot of sprinkler system work to be done for the flower beds...partly because I dug up some plants and...uh....went chop chop to the underground soaker hoses....yeh. woops!
I'm just taking a step back from gardening this year after a sucky growing season last summer and time management from my job job.
Might do some canning intermittently throughout the year. I'll post details about it when it does happen and how to pick up the goodies.
I do not plan to be selling at the Farmer's Market in neither Clinton nor Weatherford this season. Thank you for all of your support! I will miss being at the Farmer's Markets every week. Please continue to support these community folks! I plan on still shopping at the Weatherford one (because I live here).
Also,
I've never seen a red bud start blooming from the top & then go downward, but I guess this one in my backyard decided to mix it up this year. Looking forward to these blossoms!
Oh yeh,! And Frank the h***y toad made it thru another winter! Good lad, that Frank. I was walking over to his flower bed to w**d it and he ran about 3 ft just to let me know he was there. After I w**ded it, I watered. He didn't like getting directly wet, but he sure did enjoy drinking the mist off of the spray of the water!
