Rainy days are perfect for listening to jazz.

Every once in a while, I stop by the weekend jam session at Smalls. I actually enjoy it even more than a formal performance because you never know what will happen. There are always unexpected moments, spontaneous collaborations, and incredible musicians to discover.

This time, I was especially moved by two jazz musicians in their 90s. The 98-year-old bassist walked with a cane, yet his arms were still strong enough to play the upright bass beautifully. The 91-year-old drummer had such energy that you would never guess his age.

Life is short, but an artist’s passion doesn’t seem to grow old. 🎶

I hadn’t been to Boston in almost 20 years, so this two-day trip was such a treat.
There’s a saying: You can only see as much as you understand. This time, I noticed so much more than I did before.
Boston has changed in many ways, but what stood out most was its architecture. Walking through the city felt like exploring a living museum, where historic buildings stand alongside modern designs. It was like seeing different chapters of American architectural history all in one place.

If you love tea, you have to try Park, Sung Wook and 이금영’s ceramic tea ware. Because they are fired in a traditional wood kiln, each piece has a truly unique texture. We are surrounded by so many industrial, mass-produced items in our daily lives, so the organic shape and texture of these ceramics really make you feel closer to nature and life. 🌿

A natural, avant-garde symphony at the Park Avenue Armory

Stepping into the darkness of the Armory to see Céleste Boursier-Mougenot’s “clinamen”. Having first seen images of this piece in the Pinault Collection’s opening exhibition, experiencing it in this massive, wall-less drill hall feels entirely different.
Three blue ponds filled with white ceramic bowls of varying sizes floating, colliding, and creating an organic orchestra. The sound echoes powerfully into the high ceilings, yet the effect is deeply relaxing and meditative—everyone was just sitting or lying down, taking it in.
A beautifully minimalist and unique contrast to the glamorous exhibitions usually hosted here. ✨
