Meet the Maker | Atelier Rouge

There are artists who create objects.
And then there are artists who transform material into atmosphere.
For our Atelier Rouge at the inaugural South Florida Holiday House, we commissioned a custom work by Tara Thacker — a piece that speaks in shadow, repetition, and restraint.
At the heart of Tara’s practice is an almost obsessive devotion to process. Each individual component is formed and considered as its own architectural fragment before being composed into a larger, layered surface — one that feels discovered rather than made.
This particular work, rendered in brass, carries a quiet luminosity. It shifts with the light. It reads like a nocturnal landscape. It references wing structures, memory, and movement — yet remains abstract enough to leave space for your own interpretation.
What appears effortless is anything but.
What feels organic is meticulously constructed.
What you see is only part of the story.
We are honored to bring her vision into the moody narrative of Atelier Rouge — where material becomes emotion and detail becomes drama.
