Just finished installing this Black Walnut live-edge mantle. Brackets are done with black iron pipe. This is a thinner slab than I would normally use for a mantle, but my clients requested it and it will not need to hold anything heavy. Regardless, it still has a very high weight capacity and looks fantastic. Finished with Spar-Urethane rather than my typical hardwax oil for a slightly more gloss finish.

Silver Maple floating shelves with Midnight Black resin filler. I love the figuring on these smaller burl pieces. There are still a few left, as well as larger slabs from the same tree, just waiting to be made into your next home feature.

Mrs. RLW took a new job and works from home now. We had a tiny store-bought desk, but what's the point of marrying a woodworker if he doesn't revamp the guest room and build you a custom desk and home office? Did I make the project entirely more complicated than it needed to be? Absolutely. Worth it? Always.

I'm terrible at keeping my social media up to date while also running all other parts of my business. I'll be making an effort to post my work more often, rather than semi-regular photo dumps. This Silver Maple has some absolutely amazing quilting and works beautifully with this deep blue epoxy. If you like this 15.5" x 9.5" x 1.5" board, it is currently available for $150.00. I have plenty more of these small Maple slabs as well as many other species of lumber if you'd like to commission your own! You can always customize your sizes, epoxy colors and laser engravings as well!
