Dear stitchers -
I am so sorry to have been out of touch for so very long.
This is a very difficult letter to write & I’m sure it will either be too much or too little or both, so bear with me.
I’ll hit the main point first.
Ww have lost our lease. This would have been the year we had to renew our lease. Unfortunately, with the way of the world today, the rent was going to make it untenable for us. I have tried for several months to find a way to work this out, but it simply wouldn’t happen.
In addition, as most of you know, last fall my mom had a serious heart attack & spent several weeks in the hospital & then several more in a rehab center. She is much better now. But during that time I myself had a very hard time juggling all the different pressures in my life. And then, as many of you know too, I lost my sweet pup Charlee earlier this year.
All these things are to say that my focus was very fractured & I feel like I did not do a good enough job for anyone.
In the midst of all this, our landlord decided they wanted us to leave sooner rather than later. I have tried for months to stay as long as possible - preferably thru the end of the year. They said no. So I requested the end of September. Again, no. They have now forced us out & I am in the process of moving everything out of the space. It is grueling.
Before you ask, no we are not moving. I am so sorry. We are closing. I simply cannot manage another move, physically, emotionally or financially. So very many of you that we see regularly have been more wonderful than I can say. But at the end of the day, to quote Jimmy Buffett, I think it’s my own damn fault.
I hope you can forgive me. I am so very sorry about all of this. I will miss each & every one of you. You have been my support thru so many losses over the last few years.
I am also sorry that our landlord would not work with us AT ALL to give me the time I thought I had to say goodbye properly.
As far as “things”! I have all you framing pieces that I am still able to work on. I have already set that up. I will be contacting each of you individually in the next few weeks. My intent is to finish your pieces. However, I know some of you may prefer to simply get your pieces & go elsewhere. I can absolutely make that happen - whatever works best for YOU.
Orders are the same - if you have PAID for something, I can still get it, or I can refund you. For those with finishing - Therese is on the case! We will let you know when they are ready & arrange a time & place for you to pick up.
And in another “when it rains it pours”, my website - which my wonderful administrator has encouraged me to move to a different platform for a few years now - has, if not fatally, then quite badly crashed. I am still working to get a proper newsletter out to everyone, but in the meantime, if you have friends who are not on Facebook, if you could please share this info with them.
In the meantime, please use this email to reach out: [email protected].
I am tentatively thinking of having a Saturday or Sunday get together - soon - somewhere close by. For one thing, I don’t want to lose touch with so many friends!
There will be more information to come. My only request is that you grant me just a tiny bit of grace. If you are angry with me, I totally understand. Believe me when I say no one is more angry with me than me. This has been a personal disappointment for me - with me - than me. So if you feel the need to email or message me & yell all kinds of horrible things, please type it out & then delete it. I know already. And I will tell you there’s not much more I can take right now…things are hanging by the finest of threads & harsh words are like sharp scissors.
Thanks for all you love & understanding.
Hugs & Stitches -
Beth
