Finished up this large black walnut dining table with matching benches and delivered it to its new home. A beautiful custom piece built to last! Huge thanks to Marty King for custom fabricating the legs. 🌳🪚🛠️

** UPDATE: SOLD**

I had a client move and return a custom, nicely figured black walnut coffee table because it wouldn’t work for their new space. I re-sanded and finished to new again and I’ll let this go for $350 OBO, if interested. It’s very heavy and thick and measures 28”x 58” and is right at 18” high with adjustable feet. PM me if interested! Will post to marketplace if none of my friends want it.

In my office, I had a leftover piece of sinker cypress from a prior project, and a coworker proposed making coasters from it. Using the table saw, I cut the wood, and then resawed it on the band saw. A quick little project and they turned out beautifully.

COOL FACT: The owner of the cypress log that this wood came from, which was retrieved from Bayou DeSiard, stopped counting the growth rings at 500 using a magnifying glass, so it’s at least that old. According to a colleague, this places the log's origin around the time Martin Luther famously nailed the 95 Theses to the church door but it probably predates even that!
