I’ve been a little quieter than usual on this page but it’s been a busy summer so far! I’ve spent time helping out at Quilteroo’s leading up to Peach Fest and their annual Art Quilt Challenge show (Guess who won Viewer’s Choice? 🥹) and this week I’m in bed healing from a rough dental procedure and catching up on the last season of SVU. Mr. Carpenter is hard at work finishing my studio space so hopefully I’ll be able to get back to my machine soon! 💖 I hope to see you all soon with lots of new pretties! I’m

I’ve been busy at QUILTEROO'S helping with Peach Fest prep but I had to stop by Creative Exchange and add a little something to their sticker wall!

💖Welcome to my Ted Talk💖

Have you ever wondered how big box stores like Walmart and Target decide what to sell? They observe and make predictions based on current fashion trends and runways.

So you will often see things that small businesses like me have been making mass produced on their shelves.

This winter Walmart sold “quilted jackets”, now Target is selling denim jeans and jackets with “quilted” panels. The thing is…

…when you buy these from a big corporation you are not only lining the pockets of billionaires but you are buying something that everyone else has access to and creating more waste in our world of fast fashion.

💖 When you buy something original from a small business and creator like myself your purchase is one-of-a-kind. There isn’t another jacket or pair of jeans like yours on the planet! AND your purchase helps me put food on our table. It helps pay for my kids to go to 4-H Camp. It allows my family to give back to folks in our community. You are literally changing our lives! You should see the happy dance we do when I make a sale. 💃🕺

Your support of my small local business makes a big difference! You get to be a part of our story. And the quilts and vintage linens I use get to live on through you!

So, remember us when you need a gift or when you want to treat yourself. We would be SO grateful! Also…my prices beat Target almost every time! 😜

I have to take a moment to shout out the man behind the scenes, my husband. This guy shows up when I need him, even if I claim to have it all under control. There are times where he had to remind me to rest, eat, and breathe. He’s a professional car packer and tent toter. He always makes sure I have everything I need to make my dreams a reality, especially a never-ending supply of Dr. Pepper and encouragement. He double checks my math and puts up with all of my external processing. The Carpenter’s Wife would never be possible without my Mr. Carpenter. ❤️❤️
