New year, new flyer, new logo— who dis?! FEBRUARY CLASS DATES!
February is usually a pretty busy month for me, hence the few class slots. They fill up fast – message me to sign up!!
Pottery is a fun date night, kid’s class, friend date, or personal endeavor! You will make unique pieces of pottery that you can keep forever. I have taught hundreds of classes and everyone has made *at least* one piece they keep🤗
Also, if you don’t know me personally, my name is Ellen Martin since2019 , but my maiden name is Hones. I started this business in 2017 when I was Ellen Hones and I’ve kept it my business name ever since. Transitioning into Ellen Martin Art, but slowly😉

After a long day shoveling and plowing snow, chili is the perfect meal. It tastes best in handmade pottery.

I think I'm emotionally recovered enough to share my devastating firing. The teapot i was refiring on the top level blew up and spread fragments to all levels of the kiln. Every piece was filled with fragments which then fused to the Glaze and ruined almost every pot including all those from my previous post. Lesson learned; don't fire used teapots because they may have water trapped inside. This was hard on me, if you can't tell. My worst firing yet. But I'm okay now that I've started cleanup.

I like a before and after with Glaze Firing. These are from the last firing before Christmas. More to come about that, but I still need time to grieve the firing.

This Christmas I gave away a little pot in a baggie. LOL! Merry Christmas!

This is the hardest thing for all the potters; waiting for the kiln to cool to a safe temperature so we can open it. I usually rush it and open at about 300 degrees. 536 is just too high!
