It’s that wonderful time of year again, cold nights and warmer days, when the sap starts to run and the boiling begins.

We stopped by Mountain Valley Maple this week to watch the process, sample the goods and check in on a couple of our Paul Revere Crossbar Lanterns that adorn the sugar shack. The smell of syrup, the steam and excitement in the air; the sap is painstakingly collected and patiently boiled, 42 gallons of sap to 1 gallon of precious syrup. It’s a special time and a special place.

Good things take time - and this place is proof of that.

Couldn’t be happier with this custom hanging lantern recently completed for Rogers McCagg Architects for a country club project in Connecticut. Finished in Gunmetal, this lantern is making a bold statement at a height of 48”!

The lantern was customized to accommodate wind chains and is reinforced with cross bars, adding both structural integrity and stability…especially for those windy days!

The result is a lantern that is not only beautifully proportioned, but exceptionally durable. And we think pretty darn handsome!
