With the weather getting nicer it’s time to spruce up your outside living space.

This deck I transformed from bland to grand. I added a decorative star to the house along with some landscaping…shrubs, annuals, perennials and potted plants. Some lanterns on the deck and string lights for mood lighting.

This vs that. Minor changes can bring warmth and impact to your space. This room has good bones but the coolness of the space lacked warmth and coziness. Adding some warm yellow and gold tones with decorative objects such as the pillows, throw blanket, lamp, semi- flush chandelier, art and a spray of forsythia changes the mood. I also added curtains, a floating wood mantle and changed out the gallery prints on the shelves. Little changes = big impact. Qui Decorate! 💛

When your not sure what to do when your architectural features are not symmetrical I can help. In this case the window is not centered so I added a tied-back curtain to the left with some large decorative pillows on the right for balance. A large area rug, tufted headboard and bench along with dome decorative pillows, a faux fur throw blanket and larger lamps help give the room a cozier feel.

I see it if you can’t. This living room was stunning before but the coffee table was off scale and the yellow chairs were not positioned correctly. The tall dramatic windows were stark and the bare wall needed some drama. I’m not a fan of ceiling fans in formal living rooms so a modern chandelier helped elevate the style of the room and fill the bare space.

I added a larger stone coffee table with decorative objects, repositioned the chairs to create a conversation area to be able to enjoy the fireplace which is a focal point. Some small decorative tables by the chairs for cocktails and a floor lamp for additional mood and task lighting was needed as well as some poofs for additional seating.

Adding all these elements ties the room together in modern sophistication. Oui Decorate!

When you need to embrace the bones of the house and can’t see its potential, I can help you see the possibilities. Embracing the mountains where this house is located, I whitewashed the stone and added molding. I replaced the light fixture with an antler chandelier, added woodland wallpaper to the ceiling, a more substantial, darker wood table, and a natural fiber area rug.
