One of the biggest bummers we face as designers? Getting a call about a really fantastic project when the client needs help ASAP. 😅

Sometimes the renovation is already underway. The builder is onsite, demo has finished, and suddenly there are an overwhelming number of decisions that need to be made - yesterday.

Other times, clients call because they want their home fully furnished and ready for the holidays (or summer), but they’re only a few months away from their deadline.

The tricky part? Great design takes time. We need time to develop the design, source the right pieces, place orders, and allow for custom furnishings to be fabricated and delivered. And just like our clients, most design firms aren’t sitting around waiting for a project to start, we’re typically booked a few months out.

So, our advice? It’s never too early to bring your designer into the process. In fact, the earlier, the better. 🙌

And if you’re thinking about a renovation, new build, or furnishing project for next year, this is your sign to start the conversation now.

The spaces we pass through everyday deserve just as much attention as the rooms we spend time in. This entryway is just a small part of this home's multi-phase renovation, but it sets the tone for the entire house.
We transformed the space with layers that work together to make a big impact: beadboard, wallpaper, lighting, a custom front door, and a stair runner. The final result is an entry that feels collected, personal, and welcoming, with room for the homeowners to incorporate meaningful pieces of their own.

We prefer a more minimal approach when it comes to styling a coffee table; a few thoughtfully chosen accessories can feel calming and intentional without creating visual clutter.

One of our favorite styling tricks is grouping accessories on a tray so everything can easily be moved when you’re using the table. We also love incorporating a functional box to tuck away remotes, reading glasses, and the everyday items you want close by but out of sight.

Texture, tones and visual interest - all thanks to this square tile in shade variations.
In the design world, we rate this tile a V4 on the V-scale rating system. Tiles are given a V-rating, or variation rating, so the designer understands how varied the color, tone and texture of a group of tiles will be. The range is V0 (very uniform appearance) through V4 (substantial variation).
