There is something about an old painting that a new one simply can't reproduce.

This 19th-century American folk art landscape has the quiet, slightly imperfect character that makes antique art so compelling—the kind of piece that feels as though it has always belonged in the room.

We especially love seeing early art used this way: not in a period interior, but layered into a collected home alongside antique furniture, contemporary upholstery, books and objects gathered over time.

The painting measures 16" × 22" and depicts what appears to be a New England or Adirondack resort landscape, complete with figures, architecture and American flags in the distance.
