When you leave a home where you spent 40+ years, raising your children and sharing countless memories, the moment is bound to be bittersweet. I loved capturing this Dad’s memory of his kids when they were little. I think all of us parents of multiple kids have had an experience like this- you step away from your kids for a moment, then come back to find that they have chosen to be together- perfectly in their most natural way. And you can imagine for a second that one day when they are grown, they will choose to do the same. ❤️

I wanted to capture the boys, doing what they do at the beach! We’ve always said Will must have been a golden retriever in a past life- that boy is happiest when he’s throwing and catching a ball. And he’s lucky enough to have a brother that’s down to play anytime.

Just a painting of my favorite girl, in my favorite place!
Now that she’s in kindergarten, I’ve finally been able to get back to making art. And of course she’s on my mind. I’m holding on to our memories of walking Popham beach in the mornings with a coffee. This spot is really special- for about 2 hours, twice a day at low tide, a sandbar appears, creating a path to Wood Island.

Probably my favorite discovery near our Maine home is Seawall beach. There are no public roads going to the beach, you have to hike over Morse mountain (2 miles in, 2 miles out). But along the way there are towering pines, marshland, enormous rock formations, a summit view of the ocean, and then, this incredible sandy beach.
