A lot of people are curious about cooking with lavender… but also slightly terrified of making food taste like soap. Fair. The secret is balance.

Lavender works beautifully when paired with bright ingredients like lemon, honey, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar because the acidity and sweetness soften the floral notes and make everything taste fresh instead of overpowering.

That’s why we’ve become completely obsessed with lavender + lemon lately. From sparkling lavender lemonade and whipped ricotta crostini to roasted chicken, vinaigrettes, cocktails, and summer entertaining boards, this pairing somehow manages to feel both elevated and approachable at the same time.
