One of the eye-catching pieces of folk art at the Matt King auction was this 15" long bobble-head, papier-mâché dog (or cat) with a mouse it had captured in its mouth. The head and the tail are both moveable. It sold for $875 at FlyingPig Antiques

The highest-priced item in the sale of Matt King's collection at FlyingPig Antiques , earning $11,250, was one of the many redware pieces. It was a jar, 9½" tall, with two handles. According to redware scholar and author Justin Thomas, it’s “a really good jar, made about 1820-30 in Middlebury, Vermont, by the Farrar family.” It had brushed decoration. An example is owned by the Bennington Museum and the Hood Museum of Art at Dartmouth also owns examples of Farrar redware.
