Yesterday, while at the Arch Digest office for the event, I stepped away for a moment and found myself looking out the window at Ground Zero and the memorial pools below.
I was thinking about the loss that happened there, how much life has happened since, and how incredibly quickly time moves.
A designer I had never met walked over to me and said, āThis is going to sound odd, but can I have your phone for a minute? I want to capture this.ā
She took this photo and handed my phone back. When I thanked her, she told me sheās been trying to capture beautiful moments for strangers when she sees them because we donāt see ourselves in the same light that others do. When she sees something beautiful, she shares her thought.
That stayed with me.
What started as a quiet moment looking out a window became this unexpected connection with another woman, simply because she noticed something beautiful and chose to say something.
A reminder to notice people. To capture the moment. To tell someone when you see something beautiful in them.
