🚨 Another “new construction” shower gone wrong 🚨

We were called out to take a look at a shower in a newly built home after the homeowner noticed water marks on the ceiling below. That’s never a good sign.

After inspecting everything and talking it through with the homeowner, we made the call to gut the shower — and it’s a good thing we did.

What we found:
❌ Wrong trowel used for tile installation
❌ No proper waterproofing (or none at all)
❌ Shower pan liner installed incorrectly
❌ Moisture already making its way through the system

At that point, there was no saving it. We had to take everything down to the studs and joists to do it the RIGHT way.

It’s honestly hard to believe this passed as “new construction.”

⚠️ Take this as a reminder:
Not every contractor is qualified, and not everything that looks good on the surface is built correctly underneath. Do your research, ask questions, and make sure you’re hiring someone who knows what they’re doing.
