A little summer inspiration from the farm 🌿

I recently spent the most wonderful day at Big Rock Organics and Esther’s Place — the kind of place that reminds you to slow down and appreciate where things come from.

We toured the farm, fed the sheep, wandered the flower fields, and enjoyed homemade potato soup, rhubarb muffins, and rhubarb tea.

And of course… I couldn’t leave without a little fiber inspiration. 🧶

I brought home the most beautiful green dyed Merino Wool & Tussah Silk that I can’t wait to spin into yarn and eventually turn into something handmade.

This summer, I’ll be spending a few hours a month volunteering at Big Rock Organics in exchange for a share of their vegetables and flowers — something about that feels beautifully full circle.

Hands in the soil.
Hands in the fiber.
Hands creating.

The more I learn about sustainable farming, textiles, and traditional ways of making, the more inspired I am in my own creative work.

Here’s to slowing down, learning something new, and finding beauty in the process. 🌱

Almost 100 years of stories stitched into these tiny pieces of fabric. 🧵

What started as a simple Facebook Marketplace porch pickup became something so much more.
Nearly 70 hand-stitched quilt squares from the 1930s and 1940s — made by women gathering together in a church quilting group — were passed along to me with the hope that someday they would become something.

They were never finished into quilts, but they weren’t forgotten. I carefully washed them by hand and started transforming them into something new — beginning with a small collection of pillows. I left the raw edges, added hand stitching, paired them with linen, and finished each one with vintage buttons from my collection.

My favorite part?
Looking closely and seeing patches within patches. Every tiny scrap was saved and used. A beautiful reminder of a time when nothing was wasted.
Old textiles carry stories.

Sometimes they’re just waiting for someone to continue them. 🤍

Lately, what’s inspiring me most is the act of making space.

Spring cleaning my home has turned into something deeper—letting go of the things that no longer serve me and honoring the pieces ready for their next chapter.

A set of Russell Wright mid-century dishes and a Rowley Company Grommet/Button Press are both available for sale.

The dishes can be found at Antiques of Winfield Booth U17 (upstairs, to the right), and the press is listed on Facebook.

I’ve also been reminded that sustainability often begins at home—reusing what we already have, clearing space thoughtfully, and choosing intention over excess.

Sometimes letting go is exactly what makes room for creativity to return. 🤍

A new chapter…✨

I’ve been making some shifts in my work lately—focusing more on the smaller, meaningful pieces that allow me to stay creative and hands-on.

And outside of my client work, I’ve been spending time creating just for the joy of it.

These coasters are made from fabric I had on hand, finished with vintage ribbon…simple, sustainable, and honestly so fun to make.

It’s been a reminder that creativity doesn’t always have to be big to be meaningful. 🤍
