Hi stranger, long time no see. Facebook has been hard for me lately….anyway, onto something fun. Twenty years ago we opened the store. I was a 25 year old, who had just moved home from living in Boston for college. There I had worked in the stock room at Anthropologie, then in their art department, in a graphic design firm making boring charts and graphs and lastly the small flower shop in my neighborhood. I learned everything there. Including how never to run a flower shop. I longed for the quiet of my home town, and never having to fight for a parking spot again. With my parent’s help (they’re the best!) we opened the store. I was inexperienced in everything business, but determined and confident in my artistic abilities.

Twenty years later, I’ve experienced some of the greatest accomplishments. Made some of the greatest friends (lost some too), have forged the best relationships with the most loyal customers and industry folks. Provided flowers for 100s of weddings some of which were for children I met as little kids in the shop, and said goodbye to customers I still miss to this day. I’ve had the most loyal wonderful employees, who I love dearly even though I never say it enough.

It’s been a journey. Some days it’s really discouraging (as every business can be) and I want to give up. Some days I long for the enthusiasm and energy I had when I was 25, but I truly can’t imagine doing anything else. Thank you for your support, and for putting up with me for 20 years. Here’s to more flowers, and silliness. 😘
