We have beautiful, unique and functional lamps on display now. The Best Lampshade Shop in Vermont! Artist Ken Blaisdell makes his living in the Upper Valley creating illuminated paintings "in the round". Hundreds of Blaisdell's artworks are exhibited in his White River Junction, Vermont, downtown store and studio "LAMPSCAPES". Blaisdell has been a painter since taking a class at the Boston Museum

of Fine Arts in 1972. His lampshades are known for rural and seaside landscapes rendered in oil on styrene paper with big skies and the light shineing through illuminating them. The trees, hills and villages, from Arizona adobe to Cape Cod quaint, spring up from the rim ringing the shade with activity. Blaisdell grew up around Springfield, Mass. As a young man, he started working in the city as a salesman for a producer of industrial machinery. Hanging around the factory he learned how to use the equiptment. One day Blaisdell wanted to try to make an Art project and he thought that a lamp would be pretty simple. Blaisdell then decided to paint a lampshade to complement his creation and.....A Light Bulb went on!
