Portland Oregon City Councilor Sameer Kanal joins other Democrats in openly calling for ICE to be abolished in America

He says ICE must be "taken apart”

Councilor Sameer Kanal: We've been talking about ICE and its activities, its lawlessness for months now. And actually, this is a conversation that goes back years. And it's just a matter of time until something like this happened here—until the federal government reins in this force and takes it apart. We will not have an end to the violence.

Interviewer: Is this something that you—obviously we saw this in Minneapolis yesterday—is this something that you expected or you never thought it would get to this extent here at home?

Councilor Sameer Kanal: I absolutely thought it was possible, that's why we've been working on legislation to try and rein in this government as it operates here from a number of months now. Yesterday I thought about Minneapolis. I was in Minneapolis in October and met a lot of the local leaders there. Drove on Portland Avenue, actually, where the shooting happened, and I'm keeping the families of Renee and Nicole Good in Minneapolis and our two Portlanders who are injured right now in my thoughts.

Interviewer: When you talk about reining in how the government operates here, are you able to specify what exactly you mean in terms of that?

Councilor Sameer Kanal: In terms of what we can do and in terms of what the federal government can do are two different things. We have to talk about ensuring that federal agents are not masked when they operate in the city limits of Portland. But broadly speaking, the federal government has a responsibility to take apart ICE, brick by brick.

Our mailing Address 704 C East 13th Street #414 Whitefish MT. 59937 our phone is 406 270-2842 Our email is [email protected] and our website is www.cowboycabin.com Since the fire at the China wall Restaurant on September 9th 2021 we were forced to close and North Western Energy whose gas meter was leaking was the cause of the Fire and then they denied our $ 1.5 Million dollar Claim and lied saying they were not responsible for all of our damages. Refusing to communicate with us. All of Attorneys that we contacted over several months all said that they they did not have the time. After explaining all of the circumstances thoroughly over and over...finally one told us that going up against North Western Energy would take up to a year and a half and all Para legals, members of their Law Firm, Secerties,, etc.etc. would literally cost more than if they won a Million dollars Suit. And any lawyer knows that the in house normal cases cases could make 10 times that in that same time frame. So it's simply a financial decision. I spent a year with hundreds of hours and i had to finally accept the fact that No Attorney was going take on Goliath.
