What do you do when you get commissioned to make a king-size quilt of Crown Royal bags that must be kept in their original state, fully functional, and show off the client’s last name? You get to have a little fun and be creative! They absolutely LOVED how it turned out.

Burned Bear story: Mr. Jack Hull has had this bear for 50+ years. It was made from his FFA jacket from high school. This memento bear-ly survived a house fire. It was an honor to restore this keepsake.

A sneak peek at a long project that will take me many more months. This is the center of an alphabet Christmas cross-stitch that I only work on every now and then while I wind down at night. No rush. Just enjoying the hobby.

Oh, how I loved working on these pillow shams. Made from three children’s onesies, shirts and bibs, these 12x12 shams are full of memories and happiness. Every square inch is covered. Even the inside is lined with their Italian cotton crib sheets. This client was very happy she could pack them flat while they moved home to Italy.

My journey as The Lone Star Stitcher began with a borrowed sewing machine and a bit of start-up money from my parents to make quality Covid masks. I then began making hair bows and headbands to try to use up scrap fabrics. I sold these at the Farmers Market where I found I could make so much more creative things: tea towels, co****le bags, heat therapy packs, darn-it dolls, etc.

Now my time is spent making Tshirt quilts and memory bears. Which. I. Love. The meaning behind every one of these projects gives me joy. I am very happy to provide quality craftsmanship and design to folks who care to keep their memories alive.

This was my first time using a local long-arm Valentina Burczyk Bowles to help speed up the process. She did a fantastic job! These vacation shirts look amazing with the stitches. I also really like the shadow effect on these. I tried two different styles and I think I like the gray shadow on the green plaid best.

A colorful tshirt quilt for a high school graduate. He is a tall boy so it needed to be big! And heavy. What a special quilt to include his very own picture. Client was very happy. Tears were shed. 😇

So I designed a mat with lots of places to hide little treasures, toys, rocks, etc. AND it has the tags from auntie’s tshirts.
