This beautiful new home (by Bower Construction) provides a southwest aspect and a never-ending view of the Williamsport valley from a second floor patio. Typically such an outlook brings with it certain weather related challenges such as low, penetrating afternoon sun and cool breezes.
With that in mind the home owner looked to Indoor Sky to provide a set of motorized ZipScreens that transform this space into a comfortable family area with large screen TV and fireplace. In the summer months the screens block the harsh setting sun keeping the patio temperature down and enhancing the experience of the TV by eliminating glare. In the fall, when things start to cool down, the screens retain warmth from the fireplace providing a cosy den saturated in fresh air. Last but no means least, the screens provide an excellent barrier to bugs of all shapes and sizes!
If you enjoy such a vista but have to resort to hanging bed sheets up to create a barrier feel free to call us and we'll help you create your own slice of paradise......

"These things have been friggin awesome while dealing with these heatwaves" This was the reaction from home owner Mike Brion after we installed some exterior zipscreens on his house!
The pivotal factor is that they were installed on the OUTSIDE of the windows similar to how they are used in Europe.

Conventional interior window shades allow solar heat to pe*****te the room, even if only by the few inches behind the fabric, but once it's in the HVAC has to deal with it. Mounting the shade on the outside means the heat stays outside!

The shades are motorized so they can be controlled from inside with power supplied by exterior solar panels. This means that no additional electrical work is needed and the finished product is environmentally friendly with zero energy cost! These shades pay for themselves in no time!

Oh, as you can see the installation was a challenge but fearless Matthew the "ladder juggler" got the job done!
