Featured Wood of the Month: CARIBBEAN HEART PINE

Caribbean Heart Pine is a plantation-grown wood from Central America available in generous dimensions as a “natural” grade that allows knots and color variation. It is one of the hardest commercially traded Pines from the Western Hemisphere, approaching the hardness of Red Oak… thereby making it the perfect Pine floor for an active household.

We have this available prefinished in 5" wide and unfinished in 5" and 7" wide.

Featured Wood of the Month: TIGERWOOD

Tigerwood comes from South/Central America and is incredibly hard and dense, with a score of 2160 on the Janka scale. It's base color is a deep amber red with incredible contrasting streaks of deep black. The grain of Tigerwood is as wild as it's coloration. From grain that runs straight and true to wild turns and twists.

We recently got a batch of solid Tigerwood in 3 1/4" wide, but don't wait long, it's moving fast!

Featured Wood of the Month: GUAJUVIRA

Also called Brazilian Hickory, Guajuvira (pronounced gwah-huh-VEER-uh) grows throughout Paraguay, Bolivia, Uruguay, Argentina, and parts of Brazil. Guajuvira is a very hard and resilient floor with a distinctive contrast of dark and light coloration that makes it the perfect choice for a rustic or high end look. Definitely “not your neighbor’s floor!”

We currently have solid Guajuvira in 3" and 4" wide along with engineered Guajuvira in 1/2" x 5 1/4"

Featured Wood of the Month: MAPLE

Often called Hard Maple or Sugar Maple, Acer Saccharum is commonly found in the Northeastern portion of North America. It is relatively hard, landing at 1450 on the Janka Hardness chart. Unlike most other hardwoods, the sapwood is most commonly used rather than its heartwood. The sapwood color tends to be a creamy off-white color with a golden hue, while the heartwood tends to be a darker reddish brown.

We currently have prefinished Maple in 2 1/4" and 3 1/4" along with unfinished Antique Maple in random widths and long lengths.

Featured Wood of the Month: ASH

Mostly found in the Northern Hemisphere, Ash is relatively hard, landing at 1320 on the Janka Hardness chart. The prevalence of Ash trees is unfortunately declining due to the Emerald Ash Borer, but we are fortunate to have some Antique Ash in our warehouse that was reclaimed from old hand hewn structural timbers, as seen in the photo.

We currently have prefinished Ash in 5 1/4" Natural grade and 5" Character grade, along with unfinished Antique Ash in random widths and long lengths.

Featured Wood of the Month: CHERRY

Cherry Blossoms are brought to mind as a symbolic flower of spring, a time of renewal, and the fleeting nature of life. Cherry trees are in the genus Prunus - which includes other edible fruits such as plums, apricots, and peaches. Cherry wood is recognized by a light pinkish brown when freshly cut, darkening to a medium reddish brown with time and exposure to light.

We currently have over 8000 square feet of inventory in 3 1/4", 4 1/4" and 5" wide.

Featured Floor of the Month: SANTA MARIA

Santa Maria is commonly found in Central America, the West Indies and northern South America, and it has a similar hardness to Teak. It's known for its pink to brown color. The Latin name (Calophyllum brasiliense) means "Beautiful Leaf from Brazil."

We currently have Santa Maria in stock in our warehouse in an engineered format that is 9/16" x 3 1/8" wide.

Featured Wood of the Month: WALNUT

Walnut flooring has warm, rich tones. The knots tend to be darker, creating a beautiful two tone look. It is highly insect repellant and moisture resistant.

We currently have inventory in 7 1/2" wide engineered with an oil finish and 5" wide solid with a urethane finish.

Featured Floor of the Month: CURUPAY

Also known as Patagonian Rosewood, Curupay is one of the hardest wood floors we inventory coming in at 3840 on the Janka hardness scale. Curupay is a dense hardwood with a highly variable streaked appearance.

We currently have inventory in 2 1/4", 4" and 5" wide. Stop by today to see its beauty!
