It seems like about once a year a project comes my way that I just can't pass up. This Spring, my family decided to go in together on restoring a house on Eagle Lake.

We plan to use it a few weeks out of the summer and rent it out the rest of the time. I finished a room this week and am so excited to be able to share it!!!

Here is The Blue Room, plus my current view of the lake off the deck.

Can you see the potential in this space???

The first time friends of mine showed me this space I could see how awesome it could be. It's been a long time since I've taken on a big project, but I just couldn't resist this challenge!!!!

This space is currently being transformed into a modern, fun, gorgeous hair styling salon! It is located downtown Willmar next to Azteca.

Grand opening is coming up soon! If you want to see the transformation in person, come see it! I'll post details in the comments.

We created some custom Spring candles for Stacy's Nursery & Floral! If you love our Christmas candle, you should definitely try one of these! All natural soy wax & scent, hand-poured, organic cotton wick, clean-burning.

With our new jobs and busy family schedules we are not able to be open at the shop this winter. First off, I want to say we will miss you! Getting to see familiar faces and catch up a bit on your lives was always the part of this work we loved the most!
Also, we did pour candles and Fusion Mineral Paint is still available, we have just outsourced the retail. So if you'd like to find a little ReStyle this Christmas, here's where our things are located!

🖤I refreshed my door in only 20 minutes!!! 🖤

Over three years ago I decided I wanted a black front door. I cleaned, sanded, applied Ultra Grip, and followed with two coats of Coal Black and two coats of Tough Coat. I absolutely love my black door, but several years of a naughty dog scratching on it everyday finally took it's toll.

One thing I love about Fusion Mineral Paint is how easy it is to touch up. Even if you've applied Tough Coat, all that is needed to add a coat of paint is a good cleaning with TSP. Refreshing my front door took a total of 20 minutes!

This is a great time to paint that front door!
You will need:
🖤TSP
🖤250 grit sand paper
🖤Ultra Grip
🖤One Pint of FMP
🖤Tough Coat
🖤A nice brush

My 14 year old asked me to redo his room, so I spent the weekend making his vision come to life.
It was a fun project! My best advice for a teen boy's room is keep it simple!

I found a new tool that works so well I just have to share! Let me introduce you to the Woodgraining Tool!

A customer wanted her table top to look like whitewashed wood. The top was laminate so could not be sanded down to stain, which means paint is our only option. BUT, you lose all your woodgrain when you paint. So, I grabbed this handy tool for the first time and it worked like a charm!!!!

Process:
1. Clean with TSP

2. Apply one coat of Ultra Grip (let dry 12 hrs)

3. Apply one coat of Algonquin (let dry for 1-2 hrs)

4. Apply Oakham with a brush in 8 inch sections and drag woodgraining tool across to create pattern moving from one end of the table to the other (allow to dry for several hours)

5. Apply one coat of White Stain and Finishing Oil

6. Apply several coats of Natural Stain and Finishing Oil for extra durability and shine
