Something new is quietly taking shape. 🌿

I’ve been spending time behind the scenes blending, experimenting, taking notes and bringing together ideas that have been on my mind for quite a while.

This is something I’ve wanted to create for years, and I’m finally giving myself the time and space to bring it to life — slowly, thoughtfully, and without rushing the process.

There’s still plenty of experimenting, testing and refining ahead, but that’s part of the fun. 😊

I thought I’d share a tiny glimpse of what’s been happening on my worktable.

LOVE MAKES OUR HOUSE A HOME 🏠🤍

This week marks seven years since we bought our home.

Seven years of everyday life, little projects, meals around the table, laughter, quiet moments, memories, and all the ordinary things that slowly turn a house into something much more meaningful.

The sign in these photos has been hanging in our home since we moved in. I hand-lettered it years ago because I’ve always believed that a house is simply a place — it’s the love and life we fill it with that makes it home.

Over the years, things have changed. Rooms have changed. Plants have grown. New memories have been made. And somewhere along the way, this home became the place where so many parts of my little world have grown too.

It’s where I cook, bake, create, work, rest, laugh, dream, and simply live.

Seven years later, I still believe the words I wrote all those years ago.

Love makes our house a home. 🤍

Here’s to the ordinary days that become some of our favorite memories.

A little story behind my Marseille-style soap… 🇫🇷🧼❤️

About 20 years ago, I traveled to France and completely fell in love with traditional Marseille soap. I loved it so much that I even had the chance to visit a soap manufacturer while I was there.

And of course, I couldn’t come home empty-handed…

So I bought 20 BLOCKS of soap—about 15 pounds!

At the airport, the customs officer opened my suitcase and saw this huge pile of soap. He looked at the soap… then looked at me.

Before he could even ask, I said:

“Sir, I REALLY love Marseille soap! I don’t know when I’ll have a chance to come back to France again, so I bought as much as I could afford.”

I can still remember the look on his face. I’m pretty sure he was wondering who travels across the world with 15 pounds of soap in their suitcase.

This was about 20 years ago, by the way. I’m not sure I’d try traveling with 20 blocks of soap today!

Years later, that love for Marseille soap inspired me to start making my own Marseille-style bars. And apparently, I still haven’t learned moderation—the ones I make for myself are 8–9 oz bricks, and I let them age for up to 12 months.

It’s a very long journey for a bar of handmade soap, but there’s something special about watching simple ingredients slowly transform into a beautiful, hard, long-lasting bar. ❤️

So if you’ve ever wondered why I’m so serious about soap…

It all started with a trip to France, 20 blocks of Marseille soap, 15 pounds of extra luggage, and one very confused customs officer. 😅
