Spent yesterday glazing in the sun ☀️ truly beautiful way to spend the day. Then at dusk, I went for a run in the park where it smelled like honeysuckle and woodsmoke. So excited to open this kiln in a few hours! This series of work will be dropping Friday May 8th. Select pieces from the collection will be available for purchase tomorrow evening at CFFDE’s yearly gala, a taste for art

Yes, this one is for me, with a green glass that just feels like a spring day in the woods 🌺

Monetizing a hobby is not for the faint of heart, sometimes it makes you forget that creating art is supposed to feed your soul first. I’ll squirrel away my prettiest glass sheets away for some special later project, wait to make myself something for our window instead of “temporarily displaying” works that haven’t sold yet.

But I like this one, and so does Momo. You might see some similar ones at market soon tho…

I like to take a moment after I remove the plastic from drying greenware to think about the next batches of these forms. Out of what I tried what really worked? When I put them up to dry after trimming and handling I’m almost too close to the process. These cups, vases, and oil bottles are (nearly) bone-dry all set up for their bisque kiln
