🌊 Spring Tips from Tim: Keep Your Coastal Home Mold Free! 🌸

Spring is here, and as temperatures rise, it’s the perfect time to think about keeping your home cool and comfortable—especially along the coast. One often-overlooked factor? Your thermostat fan setting.

Why It Matters:
Most thermostats have two fan modes:

AUTO: Fan runs only when the AC is actively cooling. ✅
ON: Fan runs continuously, circulating air even when the AC isn’t running. ❌

Running the fan constantly may seem like a good way to enjoy indoor breezes, but in coastal climates it can circulate humid air and increase the risk of mold.

Tim’s Best Practices for Coastal Homes:
✅ Set your fan to AUTO – Only run it when the AC is cooling.
✅ Monitor indoor humidity – A hygrometer can help you keep track.
✅ Use natural ventilation wisely – Open windows when outdoor humidity is lower than indoors, but avoid running the fan at the same time.
