Finished a family sign for an old friend and was able to deliver it to him and catch up today. It’s crazy how life paths diverge sometimes and then come back together. Stoked to be able to add a little something as they build their home!

Two recent pieces all wrapped up and ready to be gifted. This, and more, is what you can expect when ordering a carved piece! I want every experience around my work to be pleasant, whether visual or tactile. This wrapping is tight and thick and dressed up with a twine bow. Top it off with a personalized tag and you’ve got a nice presentation.

This x base trestle table came out great. Very happy with the new mortise and tenon joinery on the crossmember and will surely use it again. Most importantly, the patrons are happy. It’s such a great feeling when they are excited to see the piece they’ve commissioned finally completed. Man, I love building tables!!!!

This table is 6’x44”. The base is pine timbers and the top is solid maple.

A Piece of Our Story, An Intro

I started building things when I was very young. My father let me use his power tools to build skateboard ramps and other things. From him I learned craftsmanship and how to do things right. From my mother I received a creative spirit. When I conceive a new idea, it can gestate in my mind until it is birthed in my workshop by my bare hands. When the creative process meets can-do ability, great things can be crafted. That’s what Master’s Method is all about.

I take pride in my work but rather than the “master” in Master’s Method referring to myself as the craftsman, it refers to Jesus, who himself was a carpenter and is master of my life. I often like to envision Jesus working with wood and other materials in his workshop. I wonder what it would have been like to own a piece of His furniture! He created the very materials he was using to create new furniture (Colossians 1:16). It is His methods which I seek to emulate in this life.
