Bev. Polk, Handweaver / Weaverbird Studio Wake up to color and your coffee will smile! Weaving table runners and toppers, kitchen towels and bags made from my "thread-crumbs".

I live, love, and WEAVE at the edge of a town that time forgot, in a converted horse barn that I call Weaverbird Studio. My landscape is sagebrush hills in a river valley ranching community surrounded by six mountain ranges. When I'm not weaving, I love to hike with my husband or girlfriends, dig in the dirt around my flowers, or sit on my porch with a cup of coffee and my herd dog Izze. My life i

s simple and practical. My weaving is maybe not so simple, but it is vibrant, pleasurable and useful. I'd rather be weaving than cooking, so I appease my conscience by weaving practical kitchen items of washable and enduring beauty for my kitchen and yours. My staples include towels - always lots of towels - runners, and table toppers in colors and designs inspired by my surroundings. My ideas evolve as I hike, tend my flowers, and sit at my loom surrounded by shelves of multi-spectrum cones of some of the finest cotton thread in the world. I wake up dreaming about color and design ideas. Today, after more than 40 years, several looms, and more miles of thread than you can travel of I can hike, I'm still in love with weaving practical and vibrant heirlooms for your "every today".

Bev Polk

Bev Polk combines an awe-inspiring ability to use color with extraordinary artistic and technical skills. She lives and weaves in the stunning Shields River Valley, producing high-quality heirlooms and functional woven art in her Weaverbird Studio. Her pieces are truly exceptional!

Working primarily with cotton and linen, her product line typically includes table runners, designer pillows, kitchen towels, bags and cards.

A member of the prestigious Montana Circle of American Masters, Polk’s work reflects not only a lifetime of experience creating, but the diversity of her training. She was raised in a family of artists, studied commercial art and weaving at Pacific Union College, has trained in the Navajo weaving tradition with Mary Pendleton in Sedona, Arizona, and in the Swedish tradition with Wanja Elisabeth Twan in British Columbia, Canada. She has also shared her knowledge through teaching in both the U.S. and in Africa.
