Our Story

Local Rustics by 2nd Look began as full service family owned estate sale company that has been serving Eastern North Carolina since 2012. Our vision: to assist families in need of liquidating full or partial estates due to Death, Downsizing, or Relocating. Since 2012 we have worked with hundreds of families and eased the burden of liquidating personal property. These services remain the priority of our business under our original business identity of 2nd Look Estate Services, LLC.

In June of 2016 we realized there was a need to assist families that needed an outlet to sell a few items. We opened our re-sale shop in Historic Downtown Wilson and began accepting quality items on a consignment basis. This venture has allowed us the opportunity to assist many more families. Items in the resale shop accepted based primarily on the quality of items. We accept real wood items (not press / particle board), collectibles, antiques, rare items and other one of a kind pieces.

In June of 2018 we modified the name of our re-sale shop to Local Rustics by 2nd Look. This was done to begin offering items that are a passion of Bert Garris, founder and owner. Bert has always enjoyed wood working and creating various hand made items. Realizing that the “formal / fine furniture” of years past may not appeal to everyone. With that in mind he began building furniture and home decor items from reclaimed to***co barn wood. All barnwood used in our furniture comes from local to***co barns salvaged in Wilson and Nash County.

Barnwood items available include interior accent walls, bedroom furniture, dining furniture, living furniture, picture frames, custom interior wall signs and other special request.
