We’re so excited to announce renovations for our sister shop have begun! When the opportunity for this space was presented to me, it felt pretty full circle.
I started making soap professionally almost 14 years ago and was heavily inspired by the shop Earthbound Arts that was in this space for longer than I can remember. It wasn’t only the soap - it was the whole vibe I found inspirational. You’d walk in on any given day and could find one of the owners, Gordon, plucking away on his guitar surrounded by his pottery, his wife’s skincare products, and everything else the two of them created together. It was so beautiful. I said “that’s it. That’s the life I want.” One day, I boldly asked Gordon for some resources on soap making. He was so supportive and pointed me in the right direction. It took me a couple years to get brave enough but the rest is history.
Now, here I am nearly 16 years later opening my very own earth-focused home & skin care store in the space that inspired me. I’m tremendously grateful for this journey and the way it keeps suprising me. I’m truly living out all my childhood dreams right now and it wouldn’t be happening if not for both of my mothers who taught me to be tenacious and never let being a woman hold me back from anything, my father who taught me how to honor my past while working hard to build a better future, my loving husband who’s endlessly supportive and openly in awe of what I do, my very best friends who have grown up with me and believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself, and this incredible community for seeing my heart and for giving me the extraordinary honor of helping make your house feel more like a home.
Wetland Botanicals, or Wetland for short, is coming to Winston-Salem’s Arts District as the only skincare & home care refillery in the Piedmont Triad in Fall(ish) 2026.
Thank you again to everyone mentioned above, plus the beloved for the service & love you put into this space and into our Arts District. Your support means the world to me.
If you walk in one day and I’m at the counter picking away at my guitar, just know that I’ve made it and I’m right where I wanna be.
