Because we work for a flower shop, we notice flowers. No matter where we are, if there's a flower, we're lifting our camera. This week, Libby, who manages the gift shop at Health Central, has been in Germany, where there are, of course, flowers. Window boxes, roses climbing up the side of buildings, in pots all over the cities she has been to. Some we can name, some we cannot, but names don't matter, the beauty of the flowers do.

Emily Dickenson said "Flowers are the poetry of nature, written for us." We love it when we get something a little different. We love the green/purple combination of the ornamental Kale, the delicacy of Astrantia, elegance of a Calla Lily, the uniqueness of Scabiosa or just the sheer fun of a Ge**er daisy. Some flowers are seasonal, some have to be ordered ahead, but if you need it, we'll make every effort to get it.

400 stems of white mini carnations, 20 bunches of babies breath, 600 white roses, a truckload of Spanish moss, cans of bug spray, band aids and lots of water. That's what it took today to create a woodland wedding, the vision of the groom. Our thanks to the bride and groom for allowing us to participate in this moment in their lives. And a big shout out to the Betty J's team, Patty, Carla, Sandie, John and Debbie for their hard work and creative energy.

As we embark on the weekend that has become associated with the beginning of summer…. With beach trips… poolside parties… and family barbecues… let’s all take a moment for remembrance and gratitude. Memorial Day is that one day, though one day is not nearly sufficient, to remember and honor the sacrifices of those soldiers who gave their lives for you and for the freedoms we all enjoy every day. Let us also honor the families they left behind as their sacrifice was great as well❤️🇺🇸💙
