Happy holidays everyone, I'm going to try and start listing some items on here and see if anyone is interested. Shipping will be available on most of the items but in person pickup is preferred. I haven't used this page much lately but it's time to try something new.

Here's the first listing, some cast iron lamp brackets, a couple have lamps and some have damage and need work. Restoration is available on these but prices are as is. More pics available on request.

So sorry to hear of the passing of my friend and fellow collector Harold Henry yesterday. A true gentleman and one of the nicest men you could ever know. You will definitely be missed my friend.

Update about the store. I have chosen to close the retail portion of the store and will be going back to selling online or by appointment only. I will still have the restoration workshop directly behind the current store at 109 N. 2nd Ave. Unfortunately I will not be open during the 2024 Covered Bridge Festival as I will not support an event hosted by the Madison County Chamber of Commerce after the detrimental things they have chosen to do to my business. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause for people hoping to come shopping this weekend. Please post here or send a message if you have comments or complaints. Finished up a couple late Christmas presents for my girlfriend's new kitchen. The #10 slant dutch oven was her mother's that was found after she passed this last year and the #8 skillet was a dear friend of hers, kind of a second grandpa that also passed this last year. Skillet griddle I added just because they are so dang useful to keep on the stove. Merry Christmas honey.

Meet Doug Jurgens, owner of Vintage Iron Shed!

Doug has been in business with a retail store for three and a half years but has been collecting, buying and selling cast iron cookware for roughly 30+ years. Doug says that he loves the history of the iron foundries and bringing pieces back to life that have been neglected for years.

Doug says that he loves Winterset and Madison County as it is his hometown. He also enjoys collecting Winterset and Madison County history, and will be adding a section with these items to his store in the near future. (Doug is also a Civil War buff and plans to have Civil War items available in the store.)

Doug says, "What I love about being a small business owner is being able to do what I love every day. I'm very grateful to have taken my hobby and turned it into my profession. I also enjoy talking about the history of many items in the store and having people come in and reminisce about days gone by. Many people ask if it's a museum or a store, I answer that it's a little bit of both."
