Anyone else like to tackle a home project when their spouse is away? 🙋‍♀️

I had been wanting to repaint this bathroom for a long time. I knew I wanted to bring the walls closer to the deep tones in the floor and shower tile, but I kept talking myself out of it.

What if it’s too dark?
What if I hate it?
What if I just made my bathroom look like a cave?

But eventually, I decided to take the plunge. At least if I didn't like it I could repaint it before my hubby came home, right?

And you know what? I LOVE IT.

Instead of feeling dark, the rich brown makes the room feel warm, elegant and pulled together. It actually makes the tile I already loved look even better.

Sometimes we get so stuck worrying about making the wrong choice that we never give ourselves the chance to see how good the bold choice might be.

A little reminder from my bathroom makeover: sometimes you just have to be brave, trust your gut and pick up the paintbrush.

Now… what have YOU been wanting to change in your home but have been afraid to take the plunge on?

You voted... now it's time to reveal the final design! Tell me your favorite part of the kitchen remodel....

Thank you to everyone who weighed in on my kitchen design poll! It was so much fun seeing your favorite, and I'm excited to share the finished design the homeowner selected.

Here's where we landed:
~ Benjamin Moore Simply White on the main cabinetry for a warm, timeless look.

~ Benjamin Moore Hale Navy on the island and butler's pantry door to add depth and contrast.

~The butler's pantry is wrapped in beautiful warm maple, bringing in natural texture and warmth.

~ Cambria Ironsbridge countertops tie everything together with soft movement and elegance.

~ The statement piece is the polished blue-green herringbone backsplash, adding just the right amount of color and personality.

~Light oak flooring keeps the entire space feeling bright, warm, and connected.

~ And to maintain the clean, custom look, the refrigerator and freezer are fully paneled, blending seamlessly into the cabinetry.

I love how this kitchen feels classic with a fresh twist. Every finish was chosen to complement the others, creating a space that's warm, inviting, and designed to stand the test of time.

Now that you've seen the final design...what's your favorite detail? The navy island? The maple butler's pantry? The paneled appliances? Or are you like me and can't stop looking at that gorgeous herringbone backsplash? I'd love to hear! 👇

Design Trend Alert: Faux Finishes Are Back! ✨

One of the biggest surprises from this year's Artisan Home Tour?

Faux painting is making a comeback—and it's anything but outdated.

We spotted these beautiful hand-painted finishes in not one, but many of the multi-million-dollar homes we toured, adding warmth, texture, and character that simply can't be achieved with flat paint.

From soft plaster-inspired walls to old-world European charm, these finishes create a space that feels layered, collected, and lived in.

It's a reminder that great design isn't about following trends—it's about creating a home with personality.

So, I'm curious...

🤔 Do you love the look of faux finishes, or would you keep your walls a solid color?

Bathroom inspiration overload!

My niece Michelle and I spent the weekend touring 15 incredible homes on the Artisan Home Tour, and one thing is clear... bathrooms are no longer just functional spaces—they're becoming personal retreats.

Our favorite? 🤍 A warm, spa-like bathroom featuring a stunning slotted wood accent wall paired with gorgeous carved stone sinks. It felt natural, cozy, and completely inviting.

Some other trends we spotted everywhere:
✨ Thick countertop edges that make a bold statement
đź–¤ Matte black freestanding tubs
🌿 Unique wallpapers full of personality
🪨 Full granite slab walls and backsplashes
đź’ˇ Fun, sculptural lighting that doubles as art

The biggest trend of all? Designing a space that feels uniquely yours.

Which trend would you bring into your own bathroom?

This past weekend my niece Michelle and I toured 15 of the 17 homes on the Artisan Home Tour.
All of them were amazing and picking our favorite was hard but we narrowed it down to #2 from Omni Homes. #12 from Sawadski Homes came in a close second.

There was lots of natural woods and stone throughout them all. Definitely what makes them warm and inviting.

Next up I'll highlight all of the fun bathrooms and what's trending.....

Wallpaper? Yes please.
This summer's project was refreshing the guest bedroom in my home which was originally part of my grandmother's home nearly a century ago.

As I was painting, installing trim, and hanging grass cloth wallpaper, I couldn't help but wonder how many colors, wallpapers, and decorating styles these walls have seen over the years. If these walls could talk, I'm sure they'd have some stories to tell.

I traded the old green walls for Hale Navy, added board and batten, and finally got to use grasscloth wallpaper—something I've wanted to try for years.

One of the things I love most about old homes is their character. The slanted ceilings and quirky walls aren't flaws to fix; they're part of the story.

This wasn't a client project—just me having some fun, honoring a family home, and giving a well-loved room a new chapter.
