🎉 Celebrating 11 years of building and 7 years of service!

For those of you who are new to this page—JAMBO (Welcome)! 👋🏾

We were founded back in 2015, but Seven Symbols of Kwanzaa didn’t officially begin serving our community until 2019. Those years in between were spent building, dreaming, creating, learning, growing, and preparing for the vision that would eventually become Seven Symbols of Kwanzaa.

If you have a dream or a goal, don’t give up! ❤️🖤💚

So after 11 years of building toward this dream and 7 years of serving our community, we weren’t about to let this moment pass us by—even if it meant celebrating with seven candles on the workshop table at the break of dawn! I literally just clocked out!! 🫩😴😂🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️

New week. Continued healing! 🖤❤️💚 Healing is not always easy. This video includes visible emotion and reflections from my healing journey. Viewer discretion is advised.⚠️
As we continue our Healing as Cultural Work journey, I want to acknowledge that healing can take many forms. For me, part of that journey includes therapy. 🫶🏾
Healing as cultural work is not only found in our traditions, rituals, community gatherings, or the Nguzo Saba. It can also involve seeking professional support, setting boundaries, processing grief, resting, reconnecting with culture, and creating space to heal.
There is strength in asking for help. There is courage in doing the inner work. And there is no shame in choosing healing.
As we begin this new week, we reaffirm and recommit to our healing journeys, trusting that when we heal ourselves, we contribute to the healing of our families, communities, and future generations.
Healing is cultural work. Therapy is one tool on that journey.

It's LIT!!! 🔥🔥 Imani As we close this special week honoring the Nguzo Saba through Healing as Cultural Work, we pause in the spirit of Imani (Faith).
Faith calls us to believe—in ourselves, in our families, in our communities, and in the possibility of healing, even when the journey is difficult.
Today, we reaffirm and recommit to the work of healing, growth, and cultural restoration. May the reflections shared throughout this week continue to inspire, strengthen, and empower you on your journey.
